History of AAP
The Hawai‘i Supreme Court – Attorneys and Judges Assistance Program (AAP) was established in 1989 as a result of our Hawai‘i Chief Justice attendance at the National Conference of Chief Justices. The Hawai‘i Supreme Court decided that Hawai‘i should join the growing ranks of American States, Canadian Provinces and Territories and English Shires that recognized that attorneys who are impaired for any reason injure their clients and the public perception of lawyers, judges and our legal system.
